Program Note: The piece for clarinet is elemental and systematic. It explores the development of pitch materials through processes of transformation, variation, and extension. The pitch materials are based on twelve-tone technique. Before composing the piece, I reflected on what and how the audience might perceive and experience while listening. During my first semester, I wanted to change the compositional processes I had developed before entering university. For the first time, I wanted to create a piece without using a story or a preconceived concept.

Werkkommentar : Das Stück für Klarinette ist elementar und systematisch. Es geht um die Entwicklung von Tonmaterialien, ihre Entwicklung, Veränderung und Verlängerung. Die Tonmaterialien basieren auf der Zwölftontechnik. Ich habe vor dem Komponieren nachgedacht, wie und was das Publikum beim Hören wahrnehmen und empfinden kann. Im ersten Semester wollte ich meine Kompositionsprozesse, wie ich sie vor dem Studium kannte, verändern. Erstmals wollte ich im Stück keine Geschichte und keine Vorstellung verwenden.
